Tyson Blowing Out The Candles

I Cut It Again!

I can't help it! Every time I step into the salon I get it cut just a little bit shorter. I really haven't liked the hair on my neck, since it is so hot here. I was ready to have it cut off. So I had my stylist, Rachel, give me an A Line bob! I love it. I think I would like it to be a little bit more stacked in the back, but I am having my hair colored again 2 weeks before the baby is born so I will wait until then.

Tyson's Pirate Birthday Party

Tyson turns 3 on September 1st, but since that is on a Monday and kids are getting ready for school the next day, we decided to have his party today. (I cannot believe I have a 3 year old) He woke up ready to party and was trying to get into all the party stuff. It took a lot to distract him from all the arrangements. But soon it was time for the party. We invited about 13 kids and told them to be ready for a pirate party.
We had the party at a park located about 2 seconds from our house. I love outside parties. Clean up is minimal, and the kids can run and play and have a great time while we set up.

Wal-mart provided the cake. It was all made out of cupcakes, which meant I didn't have to cut a cake or serve it, the kids could help themselves. Some of the kids from the party with their pirate accessories on. (The rest were running around)A nice family shot before all the kids came. (If you look close you can see that I am sweating to death. This extra pregnancy weight wasn't helping)Happy Birthday to Tyson. He blew out all three candles at once. The cupcake "cake" was a hit with the kids. Tyson even has a blue goatee.

The kids stuffing their faces and having a ball doing it.

Here is Haylee and Kate enjoying the festivities.

Tyson got tons of great gifts. Thanks everyone for all the fun toys. And thanks to Laura and Peyton for the Dinosaur shirt and Aunt Kariann and family for the Candy Land game that came in the mail yesterday. The rest of the family gifts are being saved until Monday so we will post pictures of them being opened then. Happy birthday little man! This is a great picture of father and son. Vaughn wanted to participate in the pirate festivities so at home he dressed up for a picture. Oh how cute!!!

Dad's Memory

Mom just sent me these pictures of my dad's headstone. Doesn't it look great? I am so happy with it and I think he would be too. It is the nicest one I have seen in a long time.

I AM READY!

ok, it is official. I am ready to be done being pregnant. The problem is that I still have about 9 weeks left. I think this little girl is ready to come out because she keeps kicking the heck out of me. I am just waiting for her foot to just come protruding out my stomach one of these days. Plus, she is so low that sitting down is starting to be a problem and standing up isn't much better, feels like she is going to drop out. We still don't have a name. Poor kid!! She will probably just have to wait until she is born for her parents to name her, but that is what we did with Tyson, why break tradition??? I think Tyson is ready to have her out as well. Not only does he want to play with her, but I think he is tired of mom having to take breaks to put her feet up every hour. Oh yeah, I am swelling besides. Whoever said pregnancy makes them feel great needs to be slapped! LOL!! Just 9 more weeks, the count down is on. I am even ready for the all night feedings, I don't sleep anyways, might as well be doing something huh?

I Am So Proud Of Him

Ok, I know that in 15 years, when Tyson reads over these blog entries learning about his little life, that I am going to get it for telling this one, but I am willing to take my chances. I don't sleep at night when I am pregnant, so it isn't uncommon to find me awake at 2 or even 4 in the morning. So.....about 12:30 this morning I heard Tyson's bathroom door open and the toilet lid lift. I would usually go in to see if he needed help, because he usually comes in to get me when he has to go to the bathroom, but I just sat on the couch and listened. He completed his business, flushed and walked back into his room and climbed on his bed. At this point I went in to recover him and noticed that he hadn't quite got his PJ's up high enough in the back. His whole butt was hanging out. HA HA HA. I fixed the problem, covered the kid up and he was out again in seconds. This is the first time he has gone potty, at night, by himself. What a good kiddo!

The Big Rig Park Fiesta

Last night Lake Orion had a BIG RIG Festival thingy at Friendship Park. Vaughn got home and we left around 5:30 to go and check it out. It was a fund raiser for the Fire Department, EMS, and Police around here. We paid $5 bucks and headed in for some fun. Tyson went crazy wanting to see all of the trucks at once and had a hard time waiting in line for his turn on each vehicle.
Tyson in the Fire Truck wearing an oxygen mask. He couldn't wait to be in the fire truck.
Here he is hiding in one of the monster truck tires. This car was actually a monster car. Tyson thought he was "so cool" because he got to sit in it and hang out the window. They had a few diesels there with VERY LOUD horns. The kids could get inside them and pull on the horn cords, and they honked those horns throughout the evening. Tyson got his far share of horn pulling in.My little construction kiddo!
Tyson enjoyed standing in the shovel of this tractor. He said it was like Papa Jackson's tractor, only it is yellow and papa's is green. Funny how he remembers this kind of stuff.
Oh NO! Tyson is riding in a police car. I hope this isn't a sign. LOL HA HA HATyson can't wait to go to school, but since that is a few years off, he enjoyed just sitting on the bus and waving out the window.Maybe Tyson will be on the SWAT team. He looks good in the helmet.Tyson and his dad by a cool old truck. He had a great time being around all this "boy stuff."Towards the end of the evening they had these blow up slides and Tyson wasn't leaving without being able to go down them. One last jump before we left. We had such a nice evening. It is so fun to be in a place where there are so many things to do.

Pump It Up

Our church ward has a children's group that has been meeting throughout the summer. It
seems like the last couple of times we haven't been able to go with the group to their various activities due to doctor's appointments, library times and all sorts of other things. But this week was different. We actually were able to go and I am so glad we could. The group went to Pump It Up. It's this place where everything is the blow up slides and jumping gyms. Tyson had a ball. Thanks Cindy for setting this all up. Tyson has been talking about it for the last 2 days.
This was a jumping basketball area. The kids could jump and throw the basketballs into the hoops. Tyson was all about this place. Here is Tyson at the top of the big slide. He would have stayed on the slide all day if I would have let him.Great action shot!Tyson headed into the obstacle course. He wasn't quite sure what to do at first, but one time through it and he had it down. The Orion Ward Kids Group.

Why Me?

First off, look at the cute picture of my handsome son who informed me that he was wearing all of his shoes to the BBQ we were attending on Sunday. AH How Cute!!

Now for the story that fits the title. Friends of our from church invited us over for a little BBQ last Sunday around 4 o'clock. They live in a pretty big house in some nice neighborhood in Lake Orion. They have a great BIG back yard and they had a volleyball net set up and a slip-n-slide for the kids to play with. Needless to say, the afternoon was great, good food, good friends, funny converstation, until..............Tyson was dressed after playing in the water. He and the other kids were watching a cartoon in one room while the mommas were chatting in the other and the dads were playing badmitten outside. Tyson came up to me and said, "Mom, my bottom is wet." I just figured he must have set on some other kid's wet towel. I took him into the bathroom and WHOA!! The poor kid had "filled his shorts." He was so embarrassed. (I have to put in that he is almost potty trained and hasn't had an accident since May) He started to cry as we took off the shorts and soiled underware.

I put them in the toilet to wash them out, but Tyson needed attending to. SO.......to make a long story short, I was cleaning him up and putting the tissue in the toilet, he saw the dirty tissue in the toilet and FLUSHED IT, toilet paper and dirty underware and all. I dove to snatch the underware before it went down into the depths of the sewer, but my reflexes aren't as good as they once was. HA HA HA I wanted to die. I flushed the toilet again just to make sure it would flush again and thankgoodness it did. I finished cleaning up Tyson and the bathroom and came out wondering what the heck I was going to tell Bethany. (I have only known here for about 3 months) Being pregnant, I was close to tears as I relayed the story to her and the other ladies and to my surprise she laughed. She said, "Oh I am sure that is the most mild thing that has gone down our toilets. I have 4 kids and they have flushed numerous things down it and it still works." I was relieved, embarrassed, but releived. I then had to get Vaughn, because Tyson needed to go home, he didn't like not having any underware on under his shorts. So then I had to relay the story yet again and George, the guy whose house we were at, laughed too. He is the type to be very scarcastic and I knew I was going to hear it. He held back, thankfully, I think I would have cried if he didn't and I think he knew that. I am sure he will hit me with it at church this week. ARG!!!! Why do these things happen to me????
