Our primary had its yearly talent show last night. Tyson wanted to sing in the talent show and has been working on his song all month long. He did such an awesome job. We were so proud of him. I was just bursting with joy at the fact that my little guy got up on stage and sang so well, without any help. Great job TY TY!!! We love you.

Well......here we go again with one of my many embarrassing moments. Funny thing is, that I haven't had one in a while so I guess I was due!
For the past month I have been tanning at VIP Tanning up in Lake Orion. I bought this pass for two reasons, 1: because my pasty white skin was blinding, and 2: for some time to myself. It has been so nice to have Vaughn watch the kids at night for 40 minutes while I go and tan, and I actually am not so blindingly white. OK, so now you know why I have been tanning, now here is the embarrassing part:
I went tanning today, it was my last day to tan on my pass and I wanted to use it all up. Vaughn and the kids dropped me off and would be back to get me in about 2o minutes. I went in, said HI, got my bed assigned to me and then headed back to tan. I got in the room, put on my lotion, turned the bed on and got into the bed when...........CRACK!!! OH NO!! The tanning bed cracked under me. I laid there for about 10 seconds wondering what to do...I knew staying in the bed was out of the question, and so I finally decided that I had to go and tell the girls who were working what happened. I pulled on my clothes, shut off the bed and then walked up to the front.
ME: UM....I think I broke your tanning bed.
Worker girl: WHAT?
ME: I laid down and it cracked.
Worker girl: OMG are you ok?
Then she and her co-worker followed me back to ascertain the damage. It was a huge crack in the bottom of the bed, about 3 feet long. I was so embarrassed. I think the worker girls could tell and they reassured me that it wasn't my weight that did it. UH HUH! Thanks gals. They told me that they had never seen a bed crack before, thanks again, now I feel really good about myself. Needless to say, they put me in another room, I tanned and left. Vaughn was in the car with a screaming baby, with a look on his face that said, "What took you so long?" I then proceeded to tell him my embarrassing tale and his face turned into a big grin. "You are the only person I know who has ever broken a tanning bed," chuckled Vaughn. Thanks babe, now my self confidence is shot to heck....Why do these things happen to me..........OH YES I know why, so that I have something interesting to blog about. Hope you enjoyed the laugh.

Happy Mother's Day to all. I especially want my mom to know how much I always appreciate her and all she does for me. I also need to tell Vaughn's mom that we love and appreciate her as well.
My Mother's Day was a great one. Taryn decided to wake me up a 7am screaming. Good wake up call! Then Tyson and Vaughn slept in, so I made my own breakfast, which was ok, I made what I wanted...pancakes, juice and bacon.....just how I like it!
Once the boys rallied Tyson came up and gave me the little crafts he and Decker made. It was a homemade sun catcher and a hand print letter with a little poem. Loved it! Then Vaughn asked me what I wanted for Mother's Day......my response....."A DAY OFF?" I said this with a lot of hope in my voice....I almost got it too, but I got something just a good. Vaughn and kids gave me an ipod. I have never had my very own and now I do. It is this sleek little green one and the screen turns so you can watch videos and look at pictures. Thanks Vaughn, I love it!!!!
Then Tyson had this to say:
Tyson: Mom, so today is Mother's Day,
Tyson: And tomorrow is Father's Day and then the next day is Kid's Day.
HA HA HA What a child! You cannot get much past him. I was telling a few of the ladies at church about his conversation, and Ana Tapley, who is from Brazil, told me that in Brazil they actually do have a Kid's Day. Good thing we are not from there, or Tyson would be taking me up on that one. The Elders at church put on a little luncheon for the moms during the last 30 minutes of church. It was decked out with table cloths and everything. And the salads, breads and dessert were wonderful. Pretty cool! Anyhow, it was a wonderful day. Thanks to my family for making it so special and to my mom and sister for the gift and to everyone else.

We all do it...buy expensive toys for our kids to play with...DUH! What are we thinking??? All they need are a few of the kitchen pots and pans and a wooden spoon to play with and they are happy as larks. Or in my daughter's case, she just needed a paper plate. So much for Playschool and Hasbro's toys, Dixie plates are the best toy we have found! Enjoy the video.
