Taryn Caught Smiling

We were able to get Taryn to do a little smiling and cooing for us this morning. Just wanted to share. She is 3 months and 1 week old. I cannot believe how fast the time is flying by. Look at the little chunk. She has at least three chins. LOL!

The Cute Jacksons

Taryn was actually in a good mood today, surprise. She has been refluxing so badly, that we have had to place her on medicine to calm it down. It has been so bad, that we spent many night rocking, pacing, and anything else we could think of to just calm her down. Some nights she would scream bloody murder for 4 hours straight. I am not even stretching the truth on this one. It has been very, very hard. But she is getting better and so today we decided to take a few pictures. She is 11 weeks, and a chunky kid. Tyson is 3 1/2 and all boy!

Me and my two little partners in crime.
Yeah! Not-so-much mom! She didn't want to cuddle up while Tyson took our picture.
Is this not the funniest face you have ever seen? Tyson had her smiling and laughing.
Look at those chubby cheeks!

Taryn in her cute little leopard outfit from Aunt Kariann. I love this outfit and Taryn does too...so much that she poops in it ever time I place it on her. OH BOY!

SNOW SNOW and YEP MORE SNOW

This is the scene across from my house. About and inch has melted away, but the snow just keeps piling up. There are snow mounds around the back of the apartment where the kids can actually slide down and they are HUGE!

Look at the roof......see the icicles? They really are beautiful in the morning when the sun hits them.

Usually the snow is on the side walks.....actually I take that back, they do a pretty good job of shoveling it off around here, but then it just snows 10 minutes later, so why bother. But...today it was sunny and the snow melted away for a minute.

Funny story about the snow melting.....it makes ICE! I was getting ready to go and workout at the club house a few weeks ago around 6 at night. It had been a cold day and there was a lot of ice on the walkways and the streets. I being a girl who grew up in the cold should know that you must tread carefully on ice, but you see I am BRAIN DAMAGED from having 2 kiddos. So.....................I was be-bopping around and slipped on the ice by my car...THUD...I hit hard...I was so embarrassed because my friend Linda watched my not-so-graceful fall that I was hurrying to stand up, WHOOSH! Fell again. My behind was screaming in pain. I jumped up, successfully this time, and still went to the gym to work out. The next day my backside looked like I had gotten into the blue, green and purple paint and sat in it. OUCH!! Another embarrassing moment. I seem to have a lot of those.

My Salvation Items

As a mom, there are certain items that are a must and that I could not do without. It is a good thing the Lord put me on this earth when he did, because without these modern novelties, I might not have made it! (I definitely couldn't have been a pioneer woman....NO WAY!) The Boppie (most likely spelled wrong, but oh well) This little invention has been a life saver to my arms when nursing Taryn. It is also a great pillow. I have had many nights using it. It is also a soft bed for the baby when mom falls asleep while feeding in the wee hours of the morning.I wish I would have had this swing when Tyson was a baby. These new papasan swings are just amazing. I can't think of a better word to describe them. It rocks side to side and back to front. This is where Taryn takes her naps, the ONLY place she will take a nap. It is also good to pacify her while I cook and clean. Bless the person who invented it.....must have been a mom!My bed! LOL Actually I am not kidding. I have spent more night asleep in this rocking chair than I have in my bed in the last 3 months. Luckily for me it is pretty comfortable. Thanks to Cindy Peterson for loaning it to me.
And last, but not least.......the bouncy seat. This little contraption is the only way I get a shower in the mornings. Taryn will sit in this and entertain herself for 30 minutes.....time enough to shower and get ready. Yes I can get ready in 30 minutes.......If not for these modern salvations I would have kicked the bucket about 2 1/2 months ago. Thanks to all!!!!!

Taryn

He Is Growing Up So Fast!

Yesterday at church Tyson became a Sunbeam. He was so excited to get out of Nursery and go to the Primary, (for anyone reading this that isn't LDS that is where the bigger kids go to learn about our church. They go to an actual class and have singing time and lessons.) He is getting so big, I just want him to stay little forever, but then another part of me is loving the growing up stages and milestones. His teacher, Brother Campbell made them name tags and Tyson learned about what CTR stands for (Choose The Right) and he has been talking all about how he can be a good boy and choose the right. It is just amazing to me at how grown up he has become. Like the other night, he fell asleep on the couch and I went to pick him up and put him into bed. WHOA!! The kid weights a ton! He is taller than I had anticipated and I darn near tripped over his dangling legs as I walked down the hall. Somewhere between moving to Michigan and me having Taryn he just grew up. SNIFF SNIFF..... But the good part about the whole growing up thing is that he is one BIG helper when it comes to the house and Taryn. Tyson is an excellent Mopper and cleaner and knows all about helping dress and change Taryn, for which I am grateful for.

Cute little kids. Tyson wanted to show off his hand puppet he made.Tyson picked out this dress for Taryn as his Christmas gift to her. She looked dang cute in it yesterday. The hair still sticks straight up in the air....I don't know what to do with it, except to just let it go.Daddy's girl. And she is! She loves Vaughn and will only smile for him. I can play and play with her trying to get out a smile and he comes into the room and her little face lights up. It is too adorable! I was a daddy's girl as well so it doesn't surprise me she is too. Vaughn has been such a big help this holiday vacation. He had about 3 weeks off and it was so nice to have an extra hand around the house. He is the best dad and husband, and I just love him so much! He had to go back to his rotations today. He started OB/GYN and is excited to get it started. We are now officially 4th year medical students. YAHOO!!!! Almost done and I cannot believe how the time has flown by. Vaughn has already signed up to take Step 2 in May and July, and has 3 more shelf exams and then he is done with tests for a while. Then comes the interviewing and residency part. WOW!!! It just keeps getting better and better.I am terrible I know......but I couldn't resist! She makes the funniest faces and this one had a little help from me. HA HA HA Enjoy the laugh.
