Happy Birthday Vaughn...a little late.

(Gosh, I just suck at keeping up to date on this blog....)
September 25th was Vaughn's 32nd birthday. It was the first birthday in a long time where he didn't have to go study or go to the hospital. He was able to spend the whole day with us.After Tyson came home from school we opened up gifts. This year he didn't have a clue what we were getting him, for once. Tyson was all about helping unwrap his dad's gifts. (Tyson likes to unwrap gifts no matter who's they are.)

No we didn't give him cereal, it was the box that I needed to wrap his gift. That night we got a babysitter and for the first time, in a long time, went out to dinner without the kids. WOW! It was so nice to dress up and go to a nice restaurant and eat without chasing kids or cutting up food, or.....I could go on and on. Anyways, we ate at Ruth Chris Restaurant. I had never heard of it but Vaughn found it online and they specialize in steaks, which is what we wanted. Needless to say, it was one of the best steaks I have ever had. It practically melted in my mouth as I ate it. AHHHH!! It was a great night. Happy Birthday Vaughn, I love you!!

She Screams....LOUD!

Oh Taryn is a screamer. She is definitely a little pistol. If she wants something and doesn't get it, she screams this high pitched, blood curling scream. WOW! I have to take an Excedrin at least once a day just to calm down my throbbing head from all her screaming. Tyson is even sick of her screaming, so it really must be bad, because it takes a lot to aggravate him. And then she will just scream just for fun, and then laugh at herself. What am I going to do with this child?

Tyson's First Day of Preschool

I just cannot believe it! My baby boy started preschool today. He was so excited that at 7:30 a.m. he wanted to get to school. I had to deter him for another hour before we go. I had talked to my sister last night and she told me I had to "wear my big girl panties today." Meaning that I couldn't cry and I had to cowgirl up, as my dad would have said. So I did! I took him to school, signed him in and then left. I cried on the drive home... Just for a minute and then I was okay.He has been so excited to try out his new Transformer back pack. He wanted a picture of himself wearing it from the back.
Taryn and I were a little lost without him today, but we will manage and I am sure get used to the idea. I picked him up at 11:45 and he was elated. He loved it, and he can't wait to go back. I am so glad that he wants to go to school and didn't cry when I took him, because I don't know how I would have handled it if he would have.

Black Eye

The title pretty much sums it up. The little mover and shaker got a black eye. She was pulling herself up to a bar stool and the stool came crashing down on top of her and got her in the eye. She has changed so much in the past month that the milestones she has made is astounding. She learned to crawl and then climb on everything. She also has learned to pull herself up to the couch, table, tub...etc and then walk along the edge while holding on. Not only has she done all of this, but we are eating real people food. She especially loves mashed potatoes with sour cream and butter. Yummy. She talks her little crazy lingo, which I think sounds like French and Spanish jumbled up. Taryn also has quite the little personality. She laughs, giggles and smiles her ten tooth grin. Oh ya, I forgot that, she has ten teeth now. WHOA! We are just growing up way to fast!!

Tyson Turned 4!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TYSON! Four years ago I became a mother to this handsome little boy and the time has flown by. He is so gosh darn cute and he does the funniest things. I cannot believe that I have a child old enough to go to preschool. WOW!
Vaughn and I got Tyson up at the crack of dawn to open his presents before his dad had to leave for the hospital. He wasn't too sure about getting up that early until we mentioned presents and then he shot out of bed and was at the table surveying his loot. He wanted everything "Transformer" this year and we all came through. Notice the big "Optimus Prime" balloon, I couldn't resist. I saw it at the store and had to have it. I had more fun shopping for his birthday than I do shopping for myself.
He looked at the presents and then started ripping away.
He got lots of Transformers from his grandparents and uncles, so we got him Transformer P.J.'s instead. He loved them. He also got the game Operation, (I got it because I know Vaughn will love playing it with him since it is about doctoring and stuff), and he got posters of........yep you guessed it...Transformers. After opening gifts, Vaughn went to work and Tyson and I proceeded to play Operation. We played a few games till Taryn woke up and then we had Tyson's favorite breakfast......French Toast....Ya thought I was going to say waffles huh? Well....the kid loves waffles but he loves, loves French Toast. We then watched cartoon network, something I don't let him do because of all the nutty cartoons on it, but today was his day and so I let him indulge in it.
He also got this ribbon, Transformers of course, that said, "You are the hero today." He wore it all day long. Everywhere we went he told everyone it was his birthday and how old he was. What a kid!!
While out at his Grandpa Jackson's house he learned to ride a scooter and so his two uncles gave him one of their old ones. (Thanks Brett and Trey). So we went for a long scooter ride today. The kid has more balance than I do!

Instead of going to Walmart and having a Transformer cake made, I opted to make it myself. My mom bought me the Wilson starter cake decorating kit. My mom is a beautiful artist and very creative, suffices to say I didn't inherit that gene. So I was a bit nervous how this was going to turn out. Tyson said he wanted the Desepticons Decal for his cake. So that is what we made. I thought it turned out pretty good for my first attempt. What do you think?
Since Tyson had two birthday parties already, one at Grandma T's house and one at Grandma Jackson's house, we had a little small family/friend party. (Thanks Will and Chelsea for coming) He was bouncing off the walls with excitement to blow out his candles and eat his Transformer cake.
Lighting the candles................Blowing out the candles and officially becoming 4. He was tuckered out about 9 o'clock tonight and was ready to go to bed. He said he had a great day. Happy Birthday buddy. We love you so very very much. And we are so glad you are in our family!!!

(This blog is very out of order. So for the reader, please understand that I am trying to get back on track. I will be posting the rest of our vacation back west after this post)
